KANSAS VOTERS REJECT ANTI-ABORTION CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

The Aug. 2 vote drew intense interest as the nation’s first public referendum on abortion since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision in June.

The move is the latest by Biden, under increasing pressure by Democrats, to address the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down a woman’s federal right to an abortion that had been guaranteed by Roe vs. Wade.
