Documents disclosing the names of Jeffrey Epstein employees and other alleged associates are set to become public in the coming months, after the people listed didn\u2019t object to unsealing the materials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

More than 150 people who have confirmed or alleged links to Epstein, such as being his employee or one of his alleged victims, chose to not come forward to object to the disclosure of their names. They\u2019re mentioned in documents filed in a defamation case brought in 2015 against\u00a0Ghislaine Maxwell, an Epstein associate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lawsuit was settled in 2017, but outside groups have pushed for the release of the documents in the interest of public access.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of the people objected to their names being released and convinced\u00a0U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska, a George H.W. Bush appointee who\u2019s overseeing the case, to keep their identities shielded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Others failed to convince the judge, and Preska,\u00a0in November 2022,ordered the unsealing of documents with their names. The documents were unsealed the following month, including\u00a0filings\u00a0concerning\u00a0Sarah Ransome, an alleged victim of Epstein who backed Virginia Giuffre\u2019s allegations with her testimony.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other people didn\u2019t object to the unsealing.\u00a0Preska has said that the people\u2019s \u201cprivacy, reputational or other interests may be implicated by the unsealing of the Sealed Materials.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maxwell formerly opposed unsealing the documents but dropped her objections after\u00a0being sentenced\u00a0to\u00a020 years in prison for sex trafficking. Giuffre supports making the materials public.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

In\u00a0a new document, entered into the court docket on Feb. 8, a description for each person was offered to the judge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The document shows that the list includes more than a dozen employees of Epstein, more than a dozen alleged witnesses, more than two dozen alleged Epstein affiliates, and more than a dozen alleged victims.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Multiple alleged perpetrators and law enforcement officers are also described, including a former director of the FBI.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

A number of the people have already given media interviews or testified during Epstein-related legal cases, such as the case against Maxwell, according to the joint motion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Others have been linked with Epstein in news reports, Giuffre\u2019s lawyers said, with one person having been prosecuted abroad for sex trafficking.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Multiple people, including that person, have since died.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of the group hasn\u2019t been publicly linked to Epstein, the filing indicates.<\/strong><\/p>\n

While Maxwell has said through lawyers that she no longer objects to the unsealing, her lawyers said some of the sealed materials contain \u201csalacious, unproven allegations\u201d against multiple individuals, including an alleged Epstein associate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

In another instance, Maxwell\u2019s lawyers said that an alleged perpetrator \u201cis dead and therefore will not have \u2018a fair opportunity\u2019 to respond to any unsealed accusations which apparently was never adjudicated publicly.\u201d Giuffre\u2019s team said the material concerning the individual should \u201cbe unsealed in full\u201d because he or she \u201cis alleged to have engaged in serious wrongdoing\u201d and because the person or their representatives would have \u201ca fair opportunity\u201d to respond to any unsealed allegations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parties also diverged on descriptions of some of the people. In one case, Giuffre\u2019s team described a person as an alleged victim, but Maxwell\u2019s representatives said there was no basis for that description.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t clear yet when the documents will be disclosed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Preska has said that she\u2019ll conduct \u201ca particularized review of documents,\u201d including the names of the nonparties. The review will include examining sealed items relating to each person.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a separate case, newly unsealed information\u00a0showed\u00a0that Epstein had a close relationship with a JPMorgan Chase executive, as the bank kept his accounts active despite a sex offense conviction in Florida.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

At least 20 sex trafficking and sexual abuse victims were paid through the accounts, according to the information, which was filed by the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Justice. The bank didn\u2019t respond to a request for comment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Known Epstein associates include Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, and businessman Les Wexner.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Epstein was facing sex trafficking charges when he died in jail in 2019. New York City\u2019s medical examiner ruled the death a suicide. Epstein had pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution in Florida in 2008.<\/strong><\/p>\n
