Israel has reportedly threatened Palestinian Islamic Jihad that it will assassinate the group’s leader Ziad al-Nakhla if the rocket fire continues, an Arab media report claimed on Wednesday. Al-Nakhla is said to be based in Damascus.
“We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes. Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted,” Boudin vowed in response to an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) questionnaire during the campaign.
This incident could have long-term consequences as it may be perceived as part of Russia’s attempts to intervene more in the region after the Syrian civil war.
