A warning to Syria, Iran

Israel will not accept deployment of advanced anti-aircraft systems by Hizbullah

Syria and Damascus

“The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”
—Isaiah 17:1

Security and intelligence chiefs are expected to present a discouraging assessment at the cabinet meeting Wednesday. In recent months, Hizbullah has been able to establish a military presence north and south of the Litani River that is already prepared to a large extent to fire rockets and missiles on northern and central Israel – while at the same time hindering the IDF ground forces who would enter Lebanon to curb the fire.

In principle, Hizbullah’s rockets and missiles (estimated at 40,000) are found on both sides of the Litani. Yet the heavy arsenal, made up of several hundred rockets with warheads weighing hundreds of kilograms and featuring a range of up to 250 kilometers (roughly 160 miles) is found underground north of the Litani and is well-fortified in land bought by Hizbullah. In south Lebanon, the group established a fortified underground system that would be used to fight the IDF armored corps and infantry troops that advance towards the rocket arsenal north of the Litani. Meanwhile, the logistical and training center of Hizbullah, which has been boosted with thousands of new fighters, is in the Beqaa Valley region in Lebanon.

Yet the most worrisome development has to do with a new component that Hizbullah is attempting to set up in Lebanon with Syrian assistance. We are talking about an anti-aircraft system that is aimed at limiting Israel’s ability to gather intelligence above Lebanon, and later make it more difficult for the Israeli Air Force to strike in Lebanon and Syria. Should Iran, Syria, and Hizbullah be able to establish a massive anti-aircraft system in Lebanon, this will fundamentally change the strategic balance of power.

Hizbullah already possesses old models of anti-aircraft missiles and cannons; our Air Force has an answer for them. Some of them have already been deployed in the Second Lebanon War. Yet what the Syrians and Iranians may give Hizbullah at this time poses a different danger and is of a different scope than anything we have known so far (it should be noted these weapons have not yet been received by Hizbullah.) In fact, this system is supposed to provide aerial defense to the entire Syrian-Iranian rocket and missile arsenal in Lebanon and western Syria. Israel cannot reconcile itself to such development alongside Hizbullah’s rocket arsenal and ground fortifications.

Therefore, Jerusalem has embarked on a diplomatic-PR offensive in Europe and in the United States under the leadership of the army chief and defense minister, who recently visited Washington. Meanwhile, Olmert spoke about this with Sarkozy in Europe. The message to Syria, which is also being conveyed via Wednesday’s cabinet meeting and through other means, some of them clandestine, is as follows: Israel would not accept the establishment of an advanced anti-aircraft system in Lebanon; should it be set up, Israel will not hesitate to act against it.

Israel is also warning Lebanon against granting Hizbullah the freedom to act, in light of the latest government decision in Beirut that in fact defines Hizbullah as part of the national army. And the third issue: A warning to Hizbullah to refrain from carrying out acts of revenge for the killing of Imad Mugniyah;
such acts would meet a “disproportional response.” The Israeli government is attempting to convey all these messages at this time to Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and the international community. Israeli officials hope that exposing the Syria-Hizbullah intentions will deter Damascus and Tehran and stop them from implementing their plans in Lebanon.

Wow! Things are really heating up. These militants are out of control.
How has the world let this happen? Complacent policies and hatred of Israel.

Does God Love Israel?

God’s Word to the people of Israel:

“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14)

God loves the people of Israel, let us pray that the growing trials of the world in these last days, and all which man will bring against them will bring them to seek God in Truth and Spirit.

Yes, there is terrible suffering ahead for the people of Israel, but His promises offer physical and spiritual salvation to those that will hear and abide by His word. Just as God did not bring them out of Egypt to destroy them in the wilderness, so He has not restored them as a people and a nation only to allow them to be destroyed by evil men today.

God restored the Jews to their land to fulfill His promise that all the nations of the earth would someday be blessed through them. We should be encouraged, trust in our God and rest in His promises to Israel, and thus to us.

“For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.” (Jeremiah 24:6)

Nations will come against Israel, but, God Himself will come to her defense.

Zechariah: 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

Zechariah: 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zechariah 12:8: In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

Zechariah 12:9: And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Nothing would surprise me here!

With Russian sea power just a stones throw from the Israeli northern border, in Latakia, Syria, this could be the set up for the Gog Magog war of Ezekiel.

I would not want to be looking at 40,000 rockets coming my way.

As God has promised and shown in the past as listed above protection from Israel’s enemies has occurred numerous times. When you read the OT you see where God made covenant to bless Israel and asked for obedience to Him.. Israel (like us) tried to be obedient or sometimes when they wandered into homosexuality etc worshiping false gods. it didn’t seem so. Anyhow when they were disobedient He would punish them, they would cry out in repentance and God would over and over forgive them and bless them all over again. You see this cycle repeated over and over again thru the books of the OT. We needed a saviour and we need a saviour still..
In the NT in the first chapter of Luke verses 68-79 Zacharias prophesies about the coming messiah… ” Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, and hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began; that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us , to perfom the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; the oath which he sware to our father Abraham, that he would grant unto us, that we deing delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him , all the days of our life, and thou child,(speaking of his newborn son John) shalt be called the prophet of the highest, for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his wasy, to give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of thier sins through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of eath, to guide our feet into the way of peace…”
Are you on board, are you gonna live forever in light and peace… do your feet need guided from darkness and death? Call on Jesus, he can save you from your enemies now and forever!! He can offer you peace and eternal life!!
Choose now Eternity in Heaven or eternity in hell…

Dear Joan

Both your posts are inspiring, It is refreshing to see something posted that has nothing to do with politics. Thank you for reminding us that G_D is in control, is no respecter of persons, and saves people through the sacrifice of His Son, not through political agendas.

Of the few of God’s miracles that you listed 3 in the Old Testament are favorites of mine:

Ex 8:9-10 has a great lesson.

Ex. 8:9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
Ex. 8:10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.

Moses asks Pharaoh when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses ( In other words when do you want to get rid of these frogs?)

Pharaoh’s reply? And he said, To morrow. (Tomorrow he wanted to spend one more night with the frogs. How many people put off the call of the Holy Spirit to repent and accept the gift of Christ’s salvation just to spend one more night with the frogs? Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

The parting of the Red sea so the Israelites had safe passage, while the Egyptians perished Exodus 14:21-31

The sad part of this is that today people who want to diminish this account, have taken a false teaching that they crossed a sea of reeds, that it was more of a marsh than a sea. If this is the case Then how did the Egyptians perish?

1Ki 18:30

Of all this is one of my favorite OT chapters.I can just imagine Eliyah (Elijah) in verse 27 Looking at them and asking those questions and watching their antics, 1Ki 18:30-39 with no muss no fuss no wailing no blood letting, just sincere prayer of a man of G_D. James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Thanks again for a refreshing and encouraging post, and for the warning to those who reject Christ that the time is short.

In Messiah
Remnant

I’ll answer my own question.
Because God is letting it happen.
It’s such a great time to be a believer and witness all these things…
Evidence of(for) faith. I’m not sure what I would think if I was an unbeliever? We need to be equipped to help show the way, thanks to ITD
for keeping us in the know.
