The reason we are such a sickly people is because we view God's principles as suggestions rather than rules to live by. We take communion without repentance and first making sure our hearts are right with Christ. Our priorities match the world's too closely and we wonder why we suffer the same consequences of the world. Don't get me wrong, we will all suffer because of our sin nature and the fall of man, but Christians would not be so unhealthy and so mentally insecure if we would follow the Bible as our FIRST source of strength and wisdom. The theme God pounded into the Israelites in the Old Testament still rings true today.....Obey my laws and I will bless you. Obey the ways that seem right in your own eyes, and you will reap curses. Instead of charging per procedure, doctors should be placed on salaried status. The high-tech procedures, such as MRI and CAT technology (which was invented in Europe) is not used as extensively in European healthcare, and therefore it is not nearly as costly as US healthcare. As for drugs being the next frontier in medicine: people need to start eating right, begining with the vegetables and fruits God made, along with pure meats from animals that are free-range and grass fed and not treated with cruelty.
