KABUL, Afghanistan – Hundreds of angry Afghans burned a U.S. flag and chanted “Death to the Christians” on Thursday to protest plans by a small American church to torch copies of the Muslim holy book on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Religious and political leaders across the Muslim world, as well as several U.S. officials, have asked the church to call off the plan, warning it would lead to violence against Americans. Iraq, worried that it will unleash a backlash against all Christians, has beefed up security near churches.
The Rev. Terry Jones, of the Dove Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, has vowed to go ahead with the bonfire on Saturday, even though he has been denied the required permit.
Local officials in Mahmud Raqi, the capital of Afghanistan’s Kapisa province, estimated that up to 4,000 people took part in Thursday’s demonstration. But NATO spokesman James Judge said the protesters numbered between 500 to 700.
“The Afghan national police prevented the protest from overwhelming an Afghan military outpost,” and dispersed the demonstration, he told The Associated Press.
A cleric in Afghanistan’s largely peaceful Balkh province also warned Thursday that, if the burning goes ahead, a protest will be held in the provincial capital Mazar-i-Sharif next Monday. Protesters could hurl stones at NATO-led troops stationed in the city — one of the country’s main centers of the Islamic teaching.
In the central Pakistani city of Multan, about 200 people marched and burned a U.S. flag.
“If Quran is burned it would be beginning of destruction of America,” read one English-language banner held up by the protesters, who chanted “Down with America!”
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has denounced the planned burning and Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, has said it could lead to attacks on international troops.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also warned of repercussions, saying the burning would “face reactions by the world’s Muslims as well as followers of other religions,” according to the official IRNA news agency.
In central Baghdad, security was increased around the Church of the Virgin Mary, with military vehicles blocking the entrance to the church and Iraqi soldiers standing guard. At two other churches in the capital, police cars were parked outside and armed officers were deployed.
Canon Andrew White, the chaplain of an Anglican church in Baghdad, said the Iraqi military had warned him that his church had been threatened.

Probably just a nut case…
but has anyone done a study of this guy to see if he is really a Christian?
This could become a flash point the Non Bible Believing world needs to turn up the rhetoric, progressing to persecution, of Bible Believers in America. Watch and see if the NonBible Believing Christians begin more rapidly distancing themselves from Bible Believers.
“AntiChrist” may be, in part, an ANTI Christ Church.
In that case decisions will have to be made, WHO, WHAT, WHERE and HOW we will follow.

So it’s okay for Muslims to burn the U.S. flag, but we can’t burn their Korans? I think we have a right to do so. Muslims are a bunch of hypocrites who are secretly destroying America every day. Christians must unite and fight for their beliefs in Jesus Christ!

This is a research on the Muslim faith and Allah. I put a few insert from the main topic “AMERICAN THINKER: WHO IS ALL?
What made me think of this is the lack of the American people not standing up for our God. It all happen when one Florida preacher had the back bone to stand up for Jesus. I am going to say Amen to this one man that has upset the whole world with the burning of the Koran.
Reason # 1. Are Muslim about to taken over this nation #2 We do not stand up to this pagan religion #3 We let them have any thing they want #4 Giving in is not my way of standing up for Jesus.
We can take God out of this nation with no problem from the Christian, and have no problem of letting Allah in. I mean look at the prayers that the Muslim are doing any were they want with no problem. Mention the word JESUS and you are banned from any gathering. How sad we Christian are for our Lord. Your knees are for praying. Your feet are for standing. Get it?????????
If you might be asking were do I get the right to say and vote the way I do. Well, let me tell you. I never go on my instinct of how I feel unless I go to God for his answer. And where is God. Lets try the bible.

Thank you for visiting our website and thank you for your comments. You seem to have a strong desire to understand the LORD’s will for these last days.
It should however, be noted that all of your quoted verses are from the old Testament and while they are still important for our lives it is also important to know how they should be viewed in these days. Hebrews makes it clear that the history of the Hebrews in the wilderness was given to us as an example for our walk with the Lord. Yes, we need to “tterly destroy all the places” in OUR hearts where sin might be found. We are to remove all false gods and foolish traditions from our lives and worship God with all our hearts and minds. When God says ” banish the names of the idols from the land, and they will be remembered no more” he is clearly speaking to us about banishing all idols and false gods from our hearts.
You suggest that we use the verses above to determine how to deal with muslims however in the New Testament, the Lord gave us very clear instructions on that for this day.
Acts 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Yes, we need to stand firm for what our Lord has called us to do, but let us also do it in love and with compassion for the lost.

Terry Jones is any thing but a follower of Christ, He is a hireling not a shepherd! the acts of Terry Jones will do nothing but make the hearts of the followers of islam more hardened to receiving the truth of the gospel.
Terry Jones needs to repent and step down from the ministry
No amount of books burned will win these lost to Christ
Spend your energy winning them to Christ not alienating them!
i do not support Islam or it’s doctrines, but no amount of force or violence can conquer a religion or a heart. Only Christ can do that!
