At the Stop Iran rally that at least 10,000 people attended in Time Square, New York City, Former US Congressman Allen West condemned the Obama administration for signing the Iranian nuclear deal and for their handling of other terrorism-related issues: “This great nation is a nation of lions that is currently being led by the greatest of sheep in our 239 years of existence!”

ITD Editors Note

The word perilous: the Greek word (chalepos) (perilous) is only used one other time in the New Testament, Matthew 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. Matthew 8:28. There it is translated as (fierce) when describing the nature of the devils that possessed Legion and his cohort.

At the Stop Iran Rally that took place in Time Square in New York City yesterday, which at least 10,000 people attended, former US Congressman Allen West passionately condemned the Iranian nuclear deal. In the fiery speech, West professed that he is a simple man but one with principles unlike US President Barack Obama, who presents himself as highly intellectual but sells America down the river: “I am not one of these highly educated easily speaking kind of intellectual guys. I am a US Army combat paratrooper and this is what I want to say. This is the simple message that we should be sending to Iran. When Iran stands up and chants ‘Death to America,’ all we need to say is you first.”

“What message are we sending,” West asked rhetorically. “What message are we sending when we sit down with the number one state sponsor of terrorism? What message are we sending when we sit down with a country that is holding four Americans hostage?” West answered his own question by referring to the presidency of Jimmy Carter during which the American Embassy in Tehran was overtaken by violent Islamists and the US citizens inside were held hostage for 444 days as well as to the West’s appeasement of Hitler during the period leading up to World War II: “It is no different from the last time we had a weakling in the White House, when we had 53 Americans being held hostage. What message do we send when we create this false narrative that either we sign this piece of paper that just the same meant nothing to Adolph Hitler, it means nothing to the ayatollahs or the only alternative is to go to war?”

West noted that Obama’s appeasement policies don’t represent American values. “Well, let me tell you something,” West proclaimed. “The United States of America is about victors. The United States of America is about champions. The United States does not surrender to a bunch of black robed crazed clerics that want to see us destroyed. What does it say about us when we sit down and sign an agreement with a country like Iran so that they can become an economic power, so that in five years, when the UN arms embargo is taken away, they can become a military power? And then in 10 to 15 years, they can become a nuclear power!”

West was highly critical of the fact that at such a critical juncture in history, the Obama administration is not investing properly in the US military: “But yet, we stand up and say we are going to cut our US Army by 40,000. We have the smallest Marine Corps since WWI; we have the smallest navy since 1917! We have the smallest and oldest air force since we created the modern air force. The message President Obama sends to these people over in Iran is not the message that was sent to Britain 239 years ago at Lexington Green, when we fired the shot that was heard around the world.”

West referred to the recent terror attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which resulted in the slaughter of five Americans and he stressed that Obama’s reaction to this incident was entirely improper: “What message does it say to radical Islamist terrorists when we have people go and kill our unarmed men and women at recruiting stations and reserve stations here in the United States of America and we can’t figure out if the kid was depressed, if the kid was on drugs, etc. Well hell no, he was a terrorist. That is what he was. What kind of commander in chief do you have when Americans have lost their lives on our soil and it is more important to come in here and take up a play than to go to Chattanooga, Tennessee and lower the flag half-mast over the White House? It’s very simple ladies and gentlemen. Alexandra the Great had a fantastic quote and he said ‘I would not fear an army of lions if they were led by sheep but I would fear an army of sheep if they were to be led by a lion.’ This great nation is a nation of lions that is currently being led by the greatest of sheep in our 239 years of existence!”

West harshly condemned the Obama administration and others that support appeasing rather than taking a stand against the Iranian regime. “How dare Barack Obama, how dare John Kerry, and how dare any of these other charlatans that occupy Washington, DC surrender this great constitution to the Republic of Iran,” he declared. “Ladies and gentleman, it was said on December 17, 1775 by Thomas Paine that these are the times that try men’s souls, that the sunshine patriot and the summer soldier will shrink from his duties but to those who will make a stand, to those of you who are here in Time Square, you will deserve the love and admiration of all men and women. Ladies and gentlemen, it is not over. You being here sends a message that I don’t care who is occupying the White House. We are not surrendering our liberty, our freedom, and our way of life.”

West implied that it is not appropriate to refer to the Iranian nuclear deal as a great historic deal that will prevent Middle Eastern wars, as Obama routinely claims. “I want President Obama to know one thing,” West concluded. “You may say you have done something that no one else has done. You know why no one else has done it? Because it is a damn stupid thing that you just did. And if people are upset because what I am saying, I really don’t care because I had a father who stood at World War II. I have an older brother who stood and was wounded at Khe Sanh. I gave 22 years of my life to make sure that this great beacon of liberty, freedom and democracy continues to stand. And I have a nephew and friends that are still serving on the front lines and my commitment is to the oath that I took on the 31th of July, 1982 to support and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It’s not to anybody’s historic event; it’s not for anyone to have some special exhibit in their presidential library. It is to make sure that the enemies of America and the enemies of Israel are crushed and on their knees. God bless you all. God bless America. God bless Israel.”
