Rabbis warn Bush: Annapolis will bring destruction to US

Group of right-wing rabbis writes open letter to US president demanding he cancel Annapolis summit or risk provoking ‘wrath of the almighty.’ Rabbis assert Katrina disaster a result of America’s support of 2005 disengagement, say California fires a warning

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
—Genesis 12:3

“Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain

A fringe group of prominent ultranationalist rabbis issued a harshly-worded letter to United States President George W. Bush earlier this week, warning him that the upcoming Annapolis peace conference would bring destruction upon America.

The rabbis evoke their previous prediction in 2005, when they published an open letter to Bush in the New York Times, demanding the US rescind its support of the disengagement plan.

“We wrote to President Bush, a man who believes in the Bible, to warn him against the terrible danger to which he is exposing his country by hosting such a conference,” said Rabbi Meir Druckman, one of signatories to the letter.

“The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. God punishes anyone who coerces Israel to give up its land,” he said.

“There is no doubt the New Orleans flood from the Katrina hurricane was God’s punishment for evicting the settlements,” said Druckman, “with hundreds of thousands left homeless, hundreds killed or wounded and billions of dollars sent down the drain – can we really ignore God’s hand collecting an eye for an eye?”

The disengagement from Gaza and the northern West Bank was completed August 23rd, 2005 – which was also the date Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas.

“Despite those consequences, yet again we find ourselves facing an initiative to expel Jews from Judea and Samaria and cede their cities to terror organizations. And once again the patrons of the event are President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

“This time the Almighty is warning the US in advance: if the plague of water was not enough now he shall send flames. While hundreds of thousands of families have already fled the terrible fires in California, and we ask you, will you really forge ahead with this malevolent plan?” added Druckman.

The letter was authored by SOS Israel, a right-wing movement which earlier this year distributed citations to IDF soldiers who disobeyed orders and refused to take part in the disengagement.

The rabbis urged Bush’s administration to back down from the current direction of the peace process, saying that not an inch of Israeli land should be ceded. “Be merciful to yourselves and the beloved America and its citizens. Lay down the hand you have raised against the Creator in war. Help the people of Israel fight without compromise against the terrorists who rise against it, and then, with a pure heart, you will truly be able to pray: May God bless America,” the rabbis said.

Among the rabbis who signed the letter are several leading religious figures, including Rabbis Dov Wolfa, Yekutiel Rap, Gedalia Axelrod as well as the chief rabbi of Kiryat Arba and Hebron, Dov Lior and the son of former Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Yaakov Yosef.

I agree whole-heartedly!
We all have talked extensively regarding various news articles on ITD that pertain to this subject. I know we are praying for our leaders to abandon this plan. Maybe we should fast as well. I pray that He will hear our prayers.

Heavenly Father send your Holy Spirit to rest upon our leaders, guiding them that they might have a clear vision of the process they are engaging in, and lead them unto repentance. Stop them from encouraging Israel to divide the land you have given them. Most importantly give them a hunger and thirst for the Truth of the gospel and a steadfast commitment to serving you in the capacity you have elevated them to in governing this nation being a light to it’s citizens and the rest of the world.
In the name above all names JESUS, Amen.

Like Jen-o said in another post, the leaders of this world had better stop meddling in God’s business… and i agree!!!

It does not matter which world leaders, or anyone for that matter, confesses believing in the bible if they do not have respect and stand in awe of the One who wrote it.
God will not be mocked! America turned to God after 9/11 but America never Repented for its wrong ways! We just went about living as usuall!
Judgement is coming!

Father G-D
I stand in agreement with Lance Gilman in his prayer for YOUR Holy Spirit to guide our leaders in all things regarding Israel, in Christ Jesus name, amen.

What is the basis to call “judgement” over a nation? Aren’t we in the time of grace? Don’t each person is responsible for it’s own sin? Please explain the Bible reference that supports this position.

Thank you kindly,
Aneriz

There is a grace for the people of God that have accepted the free Grace given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This Grace is the gift of being able to live forever with the one and only true God of the Bible – if you have accepted that gift. However, it is not a “time of grace” as you spoke of. That does not mean there is no judgment or consequences to the actions sinful people make. For every action there is a consequence, good or bad. This is the time of the church. The break between the seventy-sevens spoken of by Daniel the prophet. This is a time that has been set apart so that the gentiles will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

As the article said above, God spoke and made a covenant FOREVER with the nation of Israel. “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
—Genesis 12:3

God would make Himself out to be a liar if He did NOT fulfill the promise above. There is a book that has fully detailed what these Rabbi’s have been saying. A man named William Koenig, a White House Correspondent, spent years documenting what happened within a 24 hr period after our nation or other nations had made decrees that effected Israel. The evidence is overwhelming. The book is called, “Eye to Eye.” I would greatly suggest you get it and read it. I also would encourage you to once more read the the book of Romans & Ephesians 2 again. This better explains what Grace is and what Grace isn’t.

The Lord Jesus bless you as you seek to be like the Bereans,
Sarah

P.S. As for the article above, look up everyone! Our redemption draws nigh!!!

Aneriz,

Did you see the scripture posted at the top of the article?
GEN 12:3

I’m not saying God is judging us for sure, but, if you look around the country you can certainly see many calamities befalling us all at once.
I think these are signs we(the world) are fast approaching the tribulation period. Especially given the news surrounding Israel and the rumors of wars.

Today the news reports that parts of the Southeast(Georgia, Alabama)
have less than 80 days of “safe” drinking water left before they reach dangerously low levels of sediment and bacteria laden water which they draw from. Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the country(4 million+),
the drought is severe.

In the southwest, CA recently had massive wildfires. I live in Vegas where
Lake Mead is at an all time low. I have never seen it so low in 40 years. So far snow-pack in the Rockies is off to a very slow start. Killer cold viruses and food recalls too. We seem to have escaped the hurricane season relatively unscathed, but, have not had a “bad” CA earthquake for over a decade, hopefully that won’t happen. Winter is upon us and heating oil prices are going up. Massive financial problems facing the country like we have not seen since the great depression. Or what about the threats of our enemies trying to terrorize us?

Sounds a bit scary and doom and gloom, but, our savior said not to worry about tomorrow, so I try not to. I’m raising a family though so I have to be
a good steward, and prepare for things for their sakes.

Thankfully, we are believers and covered with the wonderful grace of God. That does not mean we have license to conduct ourselves like heathens expecting no discipline from our loving Father. For those whom He loves He disciplines and corrects.

That goes for nations and cities too.

He judged the whole earth once with a flood. Then judged Sodom and Gomorrah. Practically destroyed Egypt(once a great nation). Rome He judged. Mostly He judged His own beloved Israel. If you call yourself a Christian you should certainly expect that as an adopted child of His, you
are called to, “go and sin no more” said Jesus. Though covered by His grace we may still face consequences of our dis-obedience, willfully or not,
either personally, or, corporately as a nation, especially one founded upon Christian principles and whose currency reads “In God we trust”.

Which God do you think it refers to?

Regards,

LG

..Things are set into motion according to prophecies past and present–according to God’s Timing–that now cannot be undone. Thru prayer, I believe we can ’stem’ the tide as we serve a Merciful Father God …however, our prayer is to be “even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus” according to Revelation…we individualy need to deepen our roots, bear up and maintain for the long haul..the worst is yet to be…

nanc says Comment posted on November 18th, 2007

aneriz – i’m not sure what your question is. please explain.

we can delay judgement through prayer (collectively i believe), but we can also bring down judgement by avoiding the obvious.

if i’m not mistaken, blessings and curses come from our love of israel or our lack of love of israel.

“‘In the day that thou didst stand aloof, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. But thou shouldest not have gazed on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of My people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have gazed on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity. Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress. (Obadiah 1:11-14)”

to stand aloof is the same as agreeing with the enemy. i prefer to disagree with the enemy.

dear aneriz,

i’m not sure i understand your question… no one (individual) is “calling” judgement over a nation, but surely God judges the nations (israel, egypt), and cities (sodom, gomorrah)… indeed, God judged the whole world with a flood… the bible is replete with examples of God’s judgement… and who would know this better than a group of rabbis… i think the rabbis are warning us (america) much like jonah warned ninevah…

have you ever read the book “eye to eye” by william koenig?… in this book, koenig explores the consequences of dividing israel… koenig documents catastrophic events that happened simultaneously with presidential/governmental statements of intention and decisions about dividing the land of israel… FAR TOO MANY to be mere coincidence… i have the 2006 edition of the book which outlines 57 major events, ending with hurricane wilma in october 2005… but since then, there have been MANY more events in the last 2 years… and koenig has included updates of these on his website… there is definitely a pattern that shows that God does NOT like people messing with HIS land…

i shutter to think of the possibility of what might happen on november 27th, the date of the annapolis summit…

yes, we are in the “age of grace”, but nations don’t get born-again, nations are not cast into the fiery lake, etc… nations cannot be dealt with (and judged) the same way individuals are judged (i.e. by their faith in Jesus Christ as the Savior from sin)… but does that mean that nations are not judged at all?… no, it does not… we know that is not the case because of the many, many bible references to the judgement of the nations…

i believe that the warning of these rabbis is right on target… i just wish that our leaders would heed the warning…

shalom,
jen-o

Thank you all for your candid answers.

For those who did not understand my question, what I am asking is why would we (the USA), specially the believers, be under the curse of judgement as a consequence for the decisions of our leaders over the land of Israel.

I understand we as individuals are redeemed by faith in Christ and we receive forgiveness of our sins individually – “time of grace”. The approach by the rabbis -who do not count on the redemptive grace thru Christ- seems to be based on the old testament (an eye for an eye) and I just wondered if it applies to us.

I know that cities like Sodom and Gomorah were judge in the old testament, but I also know that God’s mercy spared the ones that trusted in Him even then.

In the parable of the field the farmer tells his workers to let the wheat and the weeds grow together to be separated at the end of the harvest, one for redemption and the others for judgement.

I can see clear as day how calamity has overwhelmed this nation, but it also relates to the end times and how things are progressively more caotic all over the world.

I have read you answers carefully, interstingly you all seem to agree to this judgement. I will check out your references and try to keep an open ear to the Spirit to help me understand.

Thanks again,
Aneriz

When exactly does the Annapolis summit take place?

remnant says Comment posted on November 19th, 2007

Dear Aneriz

Read the prophets of the tanach (old Testament) Almost all of them called for or warned of G_D’s Judgment upon Nations. Mostly upon Israel, when judgment came, mostly through Babylon or Assyria, the judgment was extreme and over the top (Assyria invented crucifixion and the “art” of flaying people alive). When G_d was finished using these nations to punish Israel, His Judgment upon both Babylon and Assyria was very severe, utter destruction of their empires and peoples.

While grace and truth came through the Messiah, it came to individuals who accepted Him. Individuals not Nations, far too many view the United States as a Christian Nation. Would a Christian Nation sacrifice their unborn through Abortion for convenience, would they try to alter the natural order that G_D gave them through genetic engineering, would they allow the lusts of perversion to take over the schools and work places to attain political correctness? I could go on and on.

No one who claims to be born again (and there are many), can continue time and time again, to act and live out of G_d’s principals in a state of ungodliness, and say they have the freedom to do so through grace.

While the Rabbis who wrote the letter are not born again and therefore know not the grace and truth of Yeshua. We as a Nation and our leaders should take heed to their warning. Bush and Rice should take this seriously, both profess to be born again, but are being influenced by their replacement theology beliefs, and the State Department’s pro-Arab influence.

G-D will not be mocked, those who live ungodly lives and are disobedient will be judged. Nations who force the division of G_D’s land will be judged. The economic disaster affecting this country, the “Natural Disasters” that have and will occur are just the start of much worse to come. Forcing this roadmap to nowhere but their own destruction, upon Israel will indeed bring grave consequences upon not only this country but all who unite against Israel.

Bill Koenig’s Book Eye to Eye shows that when the United States puts pressure on Israel to make concessions, that some disaster to The U.S. follows within days. Usually hurting us where we place our values economically.

One thing that would serve us well, eliminate the national day of prayer and replace it with a national day of repentance!

apollo – i believe on 11/27.

jen-o – excellent book! did you read his first book? “israel, the blessing or the curse”? even better than the first.

aneriz – yes, we are under grace and as christians, we know our fates. but we cannot, nor are we expected to, carry the weight of our nation on our shoulders.

there will always be punishment or curses for those who poke the Lord in the pupil of His eye. He changes not.

condi and w come from churches who either are desirous of divesting from israel or lean toward the replacement theology.

wow, i did not know so many people had responded to your question, aneriz… when i wrote my reply, none of the other responses had shown up (maybe it’s a problem with my webtv)… what i wrote sounds redundant… LOL… everyone else had already said the same thing… but the good thing is that we were all on the same page, and thinking the same things…
:~D

nanc, i had not heard about his first book… i have really only had access to this kind of information (biblical prophecy, etc.) for about a year now… prior to that, i was pretty much on my own and church-hopping in the lukewarm churches… i did not know there was such a wealth of information out here… but i’m catching on quick…
:~)
i will have to get a copy of the book you recommended… :~)

May G-D bless Israel mightily with HIS love & protection, in Christ Jesus name.
