“And I will bring again the captivity•Strongs 7622: shbuwth, sheb-ooth´; or shbiyth, sheb-eeth´; from 7617; exile, concretely, prisoners; figuratively, a former state of prosperity:—captive(-ity).

—Amos 9:14-15
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas rejected Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s talk about an “historic compromise” and said there would be no compromises on core issues such as Jerusalem and borders.
Abbas also reiterated his rejection of Netanyahu’s demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state. “We’re not talking about a Jewish state and we won’t talk about one,” Abbas said in an interview with the semi-official Al-Quds newspaper. “For us, there is the state of Israel and we won’t recognize Israel as a Jewish state.”
Abbas said that in recent meetings with leaders of the Jewish community in the US, he made it clear that the Palestinians would not recognize Israel as a Jewish state. “I told them that this is their business and that they are free to call themselves whatever they want,” Abbas said. “But [I told them] you can’t expect us to accept this.”
Abbas said that by raising the issue of Israel’s right to be a Jewish state, Netanyahu was seeking to “strip” Israeli-Arabs of their rights and turn them into illegal citizens. He said that Netanyahu’s goal was also to block any chance of Palestinian “refugees” from returning to their original homes inside Israel.
Asked about the possibility of dismantling the PA, Abbas said he did not rule out such an option if he reached the conclusion that the peace talks are hopeless. However, he stressed that this option was not on the table at present.

This attitude of the Palestinians will be their ultimate downfall. This is the reason for their dismal intellectual, cultural and economic standing on the world stage, and corruption and violence in their society (USA take note). But no worries: God will not allow them to wrest Jerusalem completely from His people, and He will save them for His great Name’s sake. It is important to note that God esteems one thing above His name: His Word. (Jesus. And the Scriptures. Which are about Jesus.)

Jews and Muslims will never join hands in any fashion, lets just accept that. However, I am happy to hear Abbas, a high ranking Muslim in Islam say,
“I told them that this is their business and that they are free to call themselves whatever they want,†Abbas said. “But you can’t expect us to accept this.â€
This is exactly what I said the Christian position is with Muslims. We love Muslims and wish to be a good witness before them that they might belive the truth of the word of God. We believe we can live in peace along side Muslims. We just don’t accept Islam as a genuine faith in Almighty God. We do not burn their Qur’an as this ratical, “Terry Jones” a misguided pentecostal who has never read the Qur’an. As a Christian scholar I recomend that all Christians read the Qur’an and let it speak for itself. If my Bible is not more powerful than the plagarized Qur’an than I will burn my Bible. I have the best solution found in my books, Father Forgive Them and COLLISION found at jonesharvest.com expressing the same attitude as Abbas. We don’t care what you call yourselves, Muslims, Islam, etc, “you can’t expect us to accept this.” In short, American Christians reach out our hand of fellowship, with assalaamu alaykum as the Prophet Muhammad commanded his followers, but it is you that refuses to obey the Prophet and be friends. Again, as Abbas said, “you can’t expect us to accept this.” Yet, we believe if you will honor your Prophet than we can live together, you as Muslims and we as Christians. My Bible is greater because it is a book of love, peace and fellowship… it commands us to love our enemies and attempt to live side by side, not claim to be a superior Muslim and refuse to follow Jesus or Muhammad. The problem is not the Palestinians and Jews who can live side by side, and do; the problem is you Mr. Abbas.
