US President George W. Bush approved the transfer of $86 million to strengthen the security forces headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Israel Radio reported Tuesday night.

The White House said the funds were meant to help Abbas prevent attacks against Israel, enforce the law and promote reform.
The money was transferred to finance training, purchase of vehicles, uniform and other non-lethal equipment, the White House added.
