A Christian couple were sentenced to be whipped and were announced Mortad by the Justice Court Of Revolution for attending a home based church and having devotional time.
So this is the “Peaceful Religion” at work. Maybe their leader should get a gold medal also.

FCNN_ An Iranian Christian couple ( their names are kept confidential in FCNN ) were arrested along with other believers on Sep. 21.2005 by the Government agents. They had gathered in a house in a town northwest of Tehran ( Gohar dasht ) for their regular prayer and devotional time.
After about two years , on July 2007 their case was submitted to the Court of Revolution , brach 3.
According to the report , this Christian couple decided to marry seven years ago , but because of some boundaries in Iranian Churches regarding the rules of Marriage between ex-Muslims and other ethnics in Iran, they were rejected a Christian legal certificated wedding ceremony , so they decided to have their wedding outside the church by the Islamic Law.
The woman was born a Christian in an Assyrian-Iranian family and the man was converted to Christianity long before they married.
According to the Court of Revolution , wedding of non-muslims by the Islamic Law is equivalent to conversion to Islam. So , the confession of faith in Christ before the Judge by the wife was an indication of turning to christianity again , therefor she was announced a Mortad ( a person who turns away from Islam, in this case the sentence is death).
The same was with the husband.
According to the Court they had to present themselves to the Authorities on a regular basis and sign a paper until the court decides the punishment. The building they had to go to is located on somewhere near the Azadi Square . The only people in that building were civic agents.
The last time the wife was present there to make a signature , one of the agents ( who was called Haj Agha , a clergy man ) sexually abused her . As a result she was so terrified that
she decided not to go back there again , not even for a signature!
After few days , on September 2007 , two female and 4 male agents go to this couple’s house and by showing them an official letter from the Court , execute the sentence of whipping right there in their house.
According to the latest news , this couple are under a high mental pressure right now.
We would like to kindly request all Iranians and believers in Christ all over the world to pray for peace , health , and protection of this family.

i think it is a shame that the mainstream media will not report these things… they refuse to expose the barbaric practices of islam (not even fox news will show this)… and so the american people are lulled into complacency and drift off to sleep…

Oh Lord please protect these Chrisitans and help them remain steadfast in their devotion to You.
I picture myself in this same situation and realize that the pain and suffering would definitely only be tolerated by the Lord’s power and strength.. As Jesus instructed Peter and the disciples in the mount of Olives, “pray that ye enter not into temptation” Luke 22:40

The faithfulness of our Christian brothers and sisters in the horrid conditions they are forced to live in…well, we should be ashamed that we are required to give so little!
Though a time is coming where our faith will be proved by fire. May we be as faithful!

i understand… it does make a person very angry (well, it makes me angry)… these kinds of things happen all the time in various parts of the world (outside of america)… people being beaten, abused, jailed, tortured, and killed for the “crime” of being christian… i get the VOM newsletter, and sometimes i can’t read it because it upsets me to hear about another brother or sister being abused… and then, VOM adds a prayer that says to pray for the abusers… i’ll tell ya: i’m just not there yet… those VOM prayers are something else… truly, they have the heart of God… they’ll ask you to pray for the christians and their families (which i can easily do) but when they ask you to pray for the abusers, i will admit that i do struggle with that…
and it also makes me angry that the mainstream media will not report these things… i think that putting this article on the frontpage (complete with pictures) might wake a few people up…
i just gotta keep remembering:

I too am frustrated that the American media Machine will not expose these things. But, what can you expect when our leaders state publicly that we all pray to the same God. Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Cult, Hindu, or Atheist. Oh, sorry, Atheist’s only pray to themselves!
All in the name of tolerance and secularism and peace.
The media has nothing to gain on a story like this, I don’t think it fits their agenda. I wish I was wrong!
We are being persecuted here in America as well.
Don’t think that the devil isn’t working to destroy us here.
It just doesn’t take 40 lashes for him to accomplish it.
All it takes is a little bit of money to corrupt our covetous fleshly nature.
Or, another sexy TV ad to lead us into temptation and compromise.
Yes, the devil is working here quite well I think.
It looks different than what our brothers experience in third world countries.
But in the end “the gates of hell will not prevail against the kingdom of God”. AMEN!
