SHELBY, NC – A North Carolina woman read the Bible for more than an hour to a man who had slashed her throat, while he held a knife to her neck.

Lindsay Wood, 32, and her 15-year-old son had returned to their Shelby, N.C., home after attending church Wednesday night when the man attacked Wood as her son collected a trash can from outside, the Shelby Star reported.
For more than an hour, her son hid outside while Wood read Scriptures to the attacker and told him about her church, before he apologized and fled, WCNC-TV, reported.
“She even invited him to her church,” a police spokesman said. “He kept saying he was sorry, and then walked away.”
The woman was rushed to the hospital and required 25 staples in a wound to her neck.
Wood’s mother Jane Hamrick said of her daughter, “She doesn’t judge people. She doesn’t criticize people. She’s a unique person.”
Hamrick added, “She was doing what her faith led her to do. This is a testimony to the person she is and the faith that she has.”
Wood is recovering after undergoing surgery, while police are still hunting the attacker.

As the people of that time were given signs of His birth and first coming, the people of this time have been given signs of His second coming.

As that generation failed to take heed to the prophets, the angles, the shepherds and the wise men of the east, so this generation is doing the same.

Jesus told us that the generation that sees His second coming will be like it was In The Days of Noah and Lot. Both of these times closed their ears and eyes to the preaching and warnings of the believers of their day and age.

We In The Days of this last generation, have more knowledge of Him and His plan than any other. We have His Word in every language, we have the world wide media and the world wide web! And yet, the eyes are closed, the ears and refuse to listen to His Holy Spirit’s call to salvation and deliverance from the judgement to come.

Here in the USA, in the midst of very trouble times, we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day. A day set aside to give thanks to our creator for the bountiful blessings bestowed upon our country and thereby upon our lives.

The staff of In The Days do thank the Lord Jesus for His sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection from the dead. We know that He entered this world that it might be saved. To the unregenerate, the word saved has little personal meaning. However, to the reborn this word, saved, carries deep eternal personal meanings.

The Holy Scripture states that Paul the Apostle was sent to the world to turn people from darkness to light and from the Power of Satan to God, that mankind could receive forgiveness for sins and inheritance through the sanctification that is in Jesus Christ, (Acts 26).

The Word of God also states that Jesus entered death to destroy him that had the power of death, even the Devil. (see Heb 2)

If the power of Satan is darkness and he also had the power of death, than death is the darkness that Satan rules over. If mankind is dying and entering death, he is then entering into eternal darkness where Satan rules forever.

However, if mankind receives forgiveness for their sins through the sacrifice of Jesus for them, then he or she has inheritance in the light. (Colossians 1). Remember that God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5).

Now, there is something eternal for which to be thankful. Being saved simply means to be saved from death and eternal darkness with Satan. It means that until we are saved, then the meaning of saved takes on a new definition, dwelling with God in the light forever, with all the inheritance He has planed for His creation. (Ephesians 1:11)

Most of the articles we read on this site point to the misery that is caused in this world through the rule of darkness. However, they also point to the coming of Jesus, for His church. Afterward, He will judge this world in righteousness as He disposes of the darkness forever. (Acts 17:31)

We pray that our readers and commenters will have a wonderful life of Thanksgiving as we await the glorious return of Our Lord Jesus for His Church.

We also pray for the unsaved, that they will receive the wonderful gift of righteousness, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins. We pray that new life will come to all as they call upon the name of the of Jesus that they might be saved. (Acts 2:21 & 4:12, Romans 10:13).

The ex-pizza business magnate, who has been neck and neck with Mitt Romney in recent polls, opened up about his personal beliefs to CNN’s Piers Morgan on Wednesday night.

“I think it’s a sin because of my biblical beliefs,” said Cain in a testy exchange. “And although people don’t agree with me, I happen to think that it is a choice.”

Morgan immediately questioned his remarks.

“You genuinely believe that millions of Americans wake up in their late teens normally and go, ‘You know what? I quite fancy being a homosexual.’ You don’t believe that, do you?” the incredulous host asked, prompting Cain to reply there was no evidence to prove otherwise.

“That being said I respect their right to make that choice. You don’t see me bashing them,” said Cain. “I don’t have to agree with it.”

Morgan then brought up Cain’s race, insisting it “would be like a gay person saying, Herman, you made a choice to be black.”

Cain remarked, “You know that’s not the case. You know I was born black … Piers, this doesn’t wash off. I hate to burst your bubble.”

“I don’t think being homosexual washes off,” said Morgan.

In another heated topic in the wide-ranging interview, Cain said he is against abortion and believes life begins at conception.

But in a surprise admission, he said Americans had the right to make their own decisions

“I can have an issue or opinion without it being a directive on the nation,” he said of abortion. “The nation shouldn’t be trying to tell people everything to do, especially when it comes to a social decision that they need to make.”

New York City, NY – On Tuesday, June 14, at 12:00 PM, influential Christian bishops and clergy members will be on the steps of New York City Hall to deliver a rebuttal to Mayor Bloomberg regarding his recent push for legalizing same-sex marriage

In the last several months, Bloomberg has been meeting with state senators whom he deemed on-the-fence regarding the issue of gay marriage. The Mayor has attempted to use his financial resources to influence the vote.

When Bishop Joseph Mattera learned of this effort through conversations with lobbyists and state senators, he began targeting undecided senators as well as galvanizing the evangelical church in New York City to make phone calls petitioning undecided senators to vote against same-sex marriage.

In the beginning of April, many believed that same-sex marriage would pass the State Senate, yet if the vote were held today; all indications are that same-sex marriage would fail.

This event will include a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-denominational group of clergy associations and denominations including City Action Coalition, Christ Covenant Coalition, CONLICO, Long Island Hispanic Pastoral Association, Staten Island Evangelical Association, Empire Baptist Missionary Convention, National Organization for Marriage, New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, International Communion of Evangelical Churches, Long Island Evangelical Association, Mission New York and many others.

Bloomberg argues that a vote for gay marriage puts senators on the right side of history and human rights, but next Tuesday, the Evangelical Church will present a rebuttal to the Mayor’s arguments.

A measure that would prohibit the teaching of homosexuality in Tennessee public schools has passed the Senate.

Under the proposal approved 19-11 on Friday, any instruction or materials at a public elementary or middle school will be “limited exclusively to age-appropriate natural human reproduction science.” Republican Senate sponsor Stacey Campfield of Knoxville says “homosexuals don’t naturally reproduce.”
Campfield says current state curriculum is not clear on what can be taught.
The companion bill has been withdrawn from consideration in the House. But its sponsor has said he will bring it up again next year if the Senate version passes.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Tennessee would become the first state to enact such legislation if the proposal passes.
Opponents of the legislation say it would be unfair to students who have same sex parents.

Is The Shack the third part of an unholy entertainment trinity?

False Prophets

According to a promotional piece for the onstage show, Stories From The Shack, “The Shack is now one of the 70 bestselling books of all time, and has become a cultural phenomenon in the same realm as the Twilight novels and the Harry Potter series.” [1] (Bold mine)

There is much spiritual truth in this statement, however unintentional. The false church is mixing with the Body of Christ, and much of this is being done through our love of entertainment. A grieved missionary recently reported how a missions group from a Christian college brought Harry Potter movies as gifts for orphans in Africa.

We now see numerous Christians defending Twilight, Harry Potter and yes, The Shack. One pastor made Paul Young his guest of honor, and devoted three full services to The Shack. Despite understanding the novel is theologically errant, he nevertheless allowed Paul Young to share his “theology of healing.” That was two years ago. Although informed after the service of Paul Young’s rejection of the penal substitutionary atonement–and provided documentation–the church bookstore is still selling copies of The Shack today.

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, you know all things. You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.” (John 21:17)

Do we love Christ enough to defend Him? Enough to protect His people?

Paul Young has had a rough life. But so have many of us. My dad died of AIDS. My wife and I have both repented of homosexual sin. I have been a homeless heroin addict and alcoholic in a number of cities. I have had skin cancer, and heart failure, struggle with the sin of gluttony, and Christ is my Salvation. Should I have chosen to align with a re-made “god” because that is easier and more pleasing?

I am sorry, but this is what is being offered to hurting people. Paul Young in 2004 wrote a paper advocating “Christian Universalism,” the belief that all go to heaven, whether they accept Jesus as Savior or not. [2] This is why The Shack refers to Jesus as the “best way” but not the only way. [3] This is why the Father-goddess character states she does not punish sin–that it is its own punishment. [4]

The spirit behind The Shack no longer needs to fight for entrance into the Body of Christ. That is a done deal. In fact, according to the promotional for Stories From The Shack, “Paul Young is setting up his own pulpit–not in a church but in a show that takes The Shack live. It’s called Stories From The Shack: a theatrical presentation that combines elements of Cirque de Soleil and Charlie Rose-like interviews.” [5]

The Shack is “higher power” theology meets goddess worship meets universalism. The Shack brings the rising false gospel–and it is settling into our chuches with silken, sibilant smoothness.
