Iran begins production of cruise missiles

This photo released by the Iranian Defense Ministry, alledgedly shows a Nasr1 (Victory) missile in a factory in Tehran, Iran, Sunday, March 7, 2010. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi announced on state TV Sunday a new production line of highly accurate, short range cruise missiles capable of evading radar. The missile named Nasr 1 (Victory) will be capable of destroying targets up to 3,000 tons in size according to Vahidi. Dinner in Damascus: What Did Iran Ask of Hizballah?

On February 26, Syrian president Bashar al-Asad hosted Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinezhad and Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah for a dinner in Damascus. Nasrallah is a routine guest in the capital, but the timing of this high-profile trip — just a week after the United States dispatched Undersecretary of State William Burns to Damascus and nominated its first new ambassador in five years — seemed calculated not only to irritate Washington, but also to highlight the central role Hizballah plays in Iran and Syria’s strategic planning. Apart from serving as a pivot between Tehran and Damascus, however, the group also holds the power to engulf Lebanon and perhaps the entire region into another war through actions of its own.

Commander Underlines Iran’s Strategic Supremacy over Europe

Iranian President Ahmadinejad Repeatedly Calls for Eliminating Israel

In the past two weeks, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has several times reiterated his call for eliminating Israel. In a number of conversations with the leaders of countries in the region and with Iran’s allies, Ahmadinejad stressed that Iran would stand alongside Syria, Lebanon, and the Palestinian organizations if they were to be attacked by Israel, and stated that this time there must be joint action to bring about Israel’s end.

Syria, Iran waive visas as leaders meet in Damascus – Summary

Damascus – Syria and Iran on Thursday signed an agreement waiving visa requirements for their nationals as the two countries’ presidents met in Damascus to reaffirm their “deeply rooted” ties. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said relations between his country and Iran were “deeply rooted” after meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, amid faltering US efforts to woo Syria away from its alliance with Iran.
