The Indiana-based Islamic Society of North America will be holding its annual convention — the largest yearly gathering of Muslims on the continent — in Washington, D.C. over the Fourth of July weekend.
Be Separate
“Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people•Strongs 2992: laos, lah-os´; apparently a primary word; a people (in general; thus differing from 1218, which denotes one’s own populace):—people.
•Strongs 1218: demos, day´-mos; from 1210; the public (as bound together socially):—people. for his name.”
—Acts 15:14
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate•Strongs 873: aphorizo, af-or-id´-zo; from 575 and 3724; to set off by boundary, i.e. (figuratively) limit, exclude, appoint, etc.:—divide, separate, sever., saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
—2 Corinthians 6:17
And while convention leaders are holding out hope that President Barack Obama might make the convention his latest stop in his outreach to the Muslim world, the convention has landed another pretty big fish as a featured speaker.
Purpose-Driven pastor Rick Warren has agreed to appear at the convention and be part of its main session discussing the convention’s theme — “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Joining Warren for the session is ISNA President Ingrid Mattson and noted Muslim scholar Hamza Yusuf.
Warren’s scheduled visit to the convention follows ISNA leader Sayyid Syeed’s appearance last December at Warren’s Saddleback Civil Forum on Public Health. Warren was unavailable this week to comment about the appearance.
His involvement with ISNA follows the Muslim organization’s attempt to build partnerships with people of other faiths, including the Union of Reform Judaism and the American Baptist Churches. You can read more about all this in my story scheduled for the Sunday edition of The Indianapolis Star.

Mike’s doing some research! Good job. I hope Barack Obama does show up. Apparently the Cairo Speech wasn’t enough for some people…(I know, Strong Delusion..) as the days continue I begin to think BHO is exactly who he says he isn’t. Here’s a thought–just a ‘wonder’– what if, the real reason we’re not seeing his birth certificate is not because he doesn’t ‘qualify’ as a US president, but because he qualifies for someone else (big”A”) entirely??? food for thought…

Life, Liberty & Joy are only truly found through the Lord, Jesus Christ.

The last paragraph really gets at the heart of this: “build partnerships with people of other faiths”. Jesus tells us not to be unequally yoked. Jesus tells us that we cannot partake of Satan’s table and of Christ’s. Jesus tells us to come out from among them and be separate. Jesus tells us that there are no other gods beside Him. How then can one be a true follower of Christ and make “partnerships” with those who worship false gods which is really satan worship?
Rick Warren is a false prophet and a deciever. He needs to get out of the saddle. Our faith is meant to be Christ centered, not me centered. Church is not about making the lost people “comfortable”; it’s about getting them to the Truth. This whole self-help, act like the heathen to win them is anti-christ. Jesus said “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Christ is to be sought first, then His righteousness and God will take care of the rest. We need the old-time religion, that was faith in action.
