The Pope’s recent criticism of homosexuals should come as no surprise. You could expect nothing less of a pope. What is surprising is that so many Catholics, including gay Catholics, make excuses for him, and are happy to stay in the club. “I would say to gay Catholics, the man is right on lots of other things and hang on in there,” said Mike Egan, chairman of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement in Britain.
